Privacy Policy

The short version

ParseLocal is a privacy-first analytics product. We do not use cookies, we do not build cross-site profiles, and we do not sell data to anyone. The information below covers two distinct groups: people who sign up for a ParseLocal account, and visitors to the websites that use our tracking script.

If you sign up for a ParseLocal account

We store the minimum needed to operate the service:

  • Your email address, used for sign-in and account notifications.
  • A hashed password (if you chose the password sign-up option), handled by Supabase Auth — we never see your plaintext password.
  • The websites you add to your account, along with their settings and the analytics data collected for them.

You can delete your account at any time by emailing contact@parselocal.com. Deleting your account removes your sites and all associated analytics data.

If you visit a site that uses ParseLocal

When the ParseLocal tracking script loads on a website, it records anonymous information about the page view: the URL, referrer, browser, operating system, screen size, and an approximate country and city derived from your IP address.

We do not store your IP address. We use it only to look up the approximate location and to compute a rotating, one-way visitor hash. The hash is derived from the site, your IP, your user agent, and a salt that rotates every day, which means the same visitor cannot be linked across days and cannot be linked across sites.

We do not set cookies, we do not use device fingerprinting beyond what is described above, and we do not share visitor data with third parties for advertising.

Where data is stored

Account and analytics data is stored in our Supabase project in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region. The application is hosted on Vercel.

Retention

Raw event records are retained for approximately 30 days. After that, only aggregated daily rollups remain — these contain no visitor identifiers and cannot be reversed back into individual visits.
